Susan has been a believer of living life boldly and is always undertaking new challenges to learn and grow. She grew up in Singapore, and at the age of 17, came to the United States to attend college. She went on to law school after attaining her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree and was one of the youngest persons to graduate from her law school class at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She was a corporate lawyer at some of the largest law firms in Chicago and Ohio and then became Associate General Counsel and General Counsel for private and public traded technology companies. Prior to her current position at Latitude Legal, Susan was a co-founding partner of CounselGS, a boutique corporate law firm in Seattle where she acted as outside General Counsel and Head of Legal for multiple technology companies. In 2016, Susan singlehandedly launched the Seattle chapter of LWT (Leading Women in Technology), a non-profit organization focused on advancing leadership skills in women. During the four years of Susan’s tenure as Chair of the Seattle LWT Leadership Team, she was able to successfully develop the presence of LWT in Seattle, and along the way, gained the support of some of the world’s largest companies as sponsors for LWT.
In 2019, Susan founded The Koa Club as a passion project, bringing together her love of connecting people, her belief in empowering women with knowledge and skills, and her desire to challenge others to be brave in trying new things. What began as a personal mission has grown into a leadership and professional development community designed to empower ambitious women professionals through mentorship, practical skills training, and meaningful connection. Through The Koa Club, Susan has created innovative programs that foster confidence, executive presence, and long-term career growth for women leaders across industries.
Susan’s impact has been recognized widely. Seattle Business Magazine named her a “Daring Woman,” America’s Women Magazine featured her in its inaugural Seattle Edition for her wholehearted belief in living life boldly, and the Singapore Global Network honored her on International Women’s Day for her unwavering commitment to empowering women.
Susan’s Beagle pup, Koa
Building on this mission, Susan is now launching Koa Counsel, a specialized extension of The Koa Club created to empower women lawyers and law students who often navigate the legal profession without access to meaningful mentorship, leadership training, or supportive peer communities. Having built her own career as a corporate lawyer and general counsel, Susan understands firsthand the structural and cultural challenges women face in law, from finding their voice to balancing ambition with authenticity. Koa Counsel reflects her deep commitment to lifting other women in the legal field by equipping them not only with legal skills, but with the confidence, influence, resilience, and leadership tools needed to shape the future of the profession.
In late 2023, Susan published her first book, Poetry for Pups, celebrating the extraordinary bonds between humans and their canine companions—blending her professional drive. with her creative spirit.
Susan resides in Seattle. In her spare time, she enjoys meeting new people, pushing herself and others to try new challenges and to stretch boundaries, and spending quality time with her family and friends, including her adorable beagle, Koa.
